教学目标


● To use adjectives to describe things. We can either put an adj before a noun or after a linking verb .

● To use comparatives or superlatives when comparing people/things.

● To compare two people/things using “(not)as …as…”when two people or things are (not )the same in some ways.


教学重点、

难点

● To train the students’ abilities of listening ,speaking ,reading and writing..

● To improve the students’ abilities of describing things with different forms of adjectives.

● To develop the students’ abilities of making conversations with the survey information .

















Step1:

Warming-up


( During the ten-minute break before class, in order to either entertain or relax the students, play a song called “Friends” to arouse their feeling towards the main topic.)

●Greet the students and tell them that we’ll have a lot of fun learning and speaking English today...Communicate with the students freely ,then manage to talk about today’s topic--classmates,friends and hobbies.

(Adjective challenge ----What should a good friend be like?)

Step2: Brainstorm (Listening Material


●Have a guessing game to see which student can recognize the persons quickly. The one who comes first will be today ‘s “Superstar”.

Here is the name list of the people( Half are teenagers from Beijing Sunshine Secondary School, half are pop stars.)Number the names according to the order of the listening material.

●Go through the description above briefly by showing their photos on the screen.

Discussion and practice


●Present some photos and let the students discuss how to use adjectives in each sentence--- before a noun or after a linking verb.

●Ask the students to help Daniel rearrange the words and describe his classmates (P12). select one student at a time to speak up.

●Students practice more about their own classmates.
