教学目标
1. To revise the cardinal numbers and use them to talk about telephone numbers.
2. To use the ordinal numbers to talk about the dates, the scores and results
教学重点、
难点
To use the ordinal numbers to talk about the dates, the scores and results.
Step 1 Revision
Ask the ss to use the prepositions of place to talk about object.
Step 2. Cardinal numbers
Revise the cardinal numbers. Teach the students more cardinal numbers. Write these words and numbers on the blackboard.
Step3. Practice
Write some numbers on the blackboard and ask the students to read them in English.
Go to P14, and ask the students to read the cardinal numbers and finish B1 by themselves. Ask the students to listen to the teacher, and write down the numbers: 598, 7493,…
Step 4. Telephone numbers
1. Tell the students your telephone number in English, and see whether they can write it down in numbers.
2. Write down their telephone numbers and try to remember them and say them in English.
3. Go to P15, B2. The students read it and write down the words by themselves.
Step 5 . Writing checks
1. To P15, B3. Ask the students to finish it in pairs. Read these numbers to each other.
2. Group work. Ask the students to draw a check and write down the numbers on the check. Then, they should read the numbers to their partners. Their partners should write down the numbers.
Step 6 . Ordinal numbers
1. Revise the ordinal numbers by talking about dates and birthdays. Write down some words on the blackboard. (first, second, third, fifth, eighth, ninth, twelfth, fifteenth, twentieth, twenty-fourth)
2. Ask the students to read these words and try to find out the rules.
3. P16, C1, the students write the numbers out in words.
Step 7. Practice
1. Talk about Neil’s visit to Beijing with the class. Ask questions:
What do Neil and Simon want to do on February, 20th?
When do they go to the Summer Palace?
2. Ask them to complete the dialogue on P17. Read the dialogue after the teacher and then read it to each other.
3. Go to P17, C3, talk about the score and then write it out in words.
