3. There are always lots of people waiting for me to finish.
4. The mall is really fun place to go.
5. It’s a good place to meet friends.
Students can write a guide to a shopping mall by themselves.
Step 1 Warm up
1. Have a free talk about shopping :
Do you like shopping ?
What do you often buy?
Where do you often go shopping ?
Is it a shopping mall?
How many floors are there ?
3. Let the students talk about going shopping .
Step 2 Presentation
1. Open books at page 83 . Read and learn Notes about the new shopping mall.
2. Explain the context and instructions carefully and make sure that students become enthusiastic.
Step 3 Reading
1. Study the words and the notes by themselves .
2. Answer some questions and check for understanding of vocabulary.
1) What is the notes about?
2) Where is the new shopping mall?
3) How many floors are there in the mall?
4) How many clothes shops are there in the mall?
Step 4 Writing
1. Explain the instructions to the class carefully.
2. Ask the students to help Simon complete his guide and use the notes in Part A
3. Walk around the class and give advice and help when necessary .
4. Ask some students to read the guide , then check for correct answer.
Step5 Extensive activity
1. Ask the students to look at the picture at page 84.
2. let the Ss write some notes about the shopping mall on the picture. You may also give some
questions to help them: Where is it? How many floors are there?
Do children like going there? Why?
Do boys like going there ? Why ?
Do Ss like going there ? Why?
Do your parents like going there? Why?
Can you enjoy a film there ?
3. Let the students to describe to each other in pairs.
