Step One: Pre-reading

1. Play a game

Ask the students to tell which word is different from other words (to review the groups of food).

2. Ask the students to tell what food is healthy and what is not healthy.

3. Present new words: diet, lifestyle, seldom with the help of pictures.

Step Two: While-reading

1. Show a short video about the passage, ask the students to watch and answer:

1) Dose Kitty have a healthy diet?

2) Is Daniel’s lifestyle good now?

2. Part A

Read Part A about Kitty’s diet answer the questions

1) What does she want to be?

2) What is important for a dancer?

3) What does she need to dance?

Part B

Read Part B and fill in the blanks

Love eating and drinking:_____________

Plan to do:__________________

3. Competition

Start a competition and ask the students to finish the exercises.

If the group gives the most correct answers, it is the winner.


Step Three: Post-reading

1. Discussion

Ask the students to discuss with their partners.

The topic is “How can we be healthy”.

2. Writing and checking

Ask the students to write something about their own diets and lifestyles, then check their diets and lifestyles, if they are not healthy, let them make some changes.
