Step 2 Revision

1. Read the model dialogue together

A: Good morning.

B: Good morning.

A: I’m Mike, what’s your name?

B: My name is Nick. How are you?

A: I’m fine, thank you. And you?

B: I’m fine too. Nice to meet you.

A: Nice to meet you too.

B: Goodbye.

A: Bye-bye.

2. Ask the Ss to make up a dialogue with his/her partner

Step 3 Welcome to the unit

1. Use the pictures to present the important sentences.

Eg. This is Sally. She is my sister.

This is Nick. He is my twin brother.

This is Spotty. He is my dog.

This is Mimi. She is my cat.

2. Read and practice

Step 4 Listening and speaking

1. Present and teach the new words about family members, like grandmother, grandfather, father, mother, sister, brother, uncle, aunt, cousin.

2. Show some pictures and practise the sentence patterns: Who is he/she? He/She is ……

3. Pay attention to some phrases: Aunt Mary, Uncle Bob, Cousin Kate

Step 5 Reading

1. Ask the Ss to think about the jobs they have known.’

2. Present the sentence patterns: What is he/she? = What is his/her job? = What does he/she do?

3. Practice
