New words and describe activities people can take in different tourist attractions
Step 1 Lead– in
Discussion:
1. Each country has it’s places of interest. For example:Show a picture of Great WallIn China, there is Great Wall. At this time, write Great Wall and China on the Bb.
2. Let the Ss tell more places of interest in foreign countries and write some of them on the Bb.
3. Where do you want to go on holiday?
4. Ask them what people can do if they are in the famous places.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Show the pictures of other five places of interest. Teach the new words and pronunciation.
Little Mermaid 美人鱼雕像 Danmark
Leaning Tower of Pisa 比萨斜塔 Italy
Mount Fuji 富士山 Japan
Great Wall 长城 China
Statue of Liberty 自由女神像 America
Tower Bridge 塔桥 England
2 Lead them to read the names of places and countries. Do the exercise: match the places of interest and the countries.
Step 3 Group work
1.show the picture of Mount Fuji.
T: It’s Mount Fuji in Japan. What can people do there?
S1: They can climb hills.
S2: They can go skiing.
( Do the gesture of taking photos to give the students some hints.)
S3: They can take some photos.
Teach the phrase ‘see the beautiful view’.
After reading the new words fluently, let Ss match the parts with lines on their book.
2. Make dialogues. Show the picture of Mount Fuji.
T: What’s this?
Ss: It’s Mount Fuji in Japan.
T: What can people do there?
S1: They can climb hills/ take photos.
Make dialogue about other five pictures in pairs. Practice the dialogue before the whole class.
Step4 comic strips
1.Travelling is fun. Before your parents take you out to go on a trip, you should pack you things. Write the phrases on the Bb. Teach them the meaning and the pronunciation.
T: today Eddie is going on a trip. Listen to the tape and answer the questions:
Where is Eddie going?
Is he happy at first?
Does Hobo want to go too?
How does he feel?
Is Eddie happy at last? Why or why not?
2. Show Picture 4. Show the difference between P 2 and P4. Try to get their two’s thoughts. Present the dialogue between them.
3. Read the dialogue after the tape.
Practice the dialogue in pairs.
Act out.

本课时以旅行为话题,学生非常感兴趣。教学时可以有效的利用这一点让学生投入到语言教学中去。此外,本课时还采用了多媒体辅助教学,让课堂变得更加有趣味,这样,就吸引了学生的注意力,使课堂气氛活跃,也加强了学生对课堂新知识的直观性。
