Step1. Free talk 1. Talk about the activities we often do in a day with students. 2. Present some pictures and talk about some more activities. Step2. Presentation Present pictures about Hobo and Eddie. Ask students to listen and answer. l Does Eddie get up late? l What are Eddie’s favourite activities? l What does Hobo think of some dogs? l What do you think of Eddie, a hardworking dog or a lazy dog? Step3. Practice 1. Listen and repeat the dialogue. 2. Work in pairs, then act it out. 3. Talk about Eddie’s day according to the dialogue. get up have breakfast go to sleep have lunch go to sleep Step 4. Presentation 1. Present Millie’s day and ask students to make a dialogue like this: A: When does Millie usually get up? B: She usually gets up at 6:30. A: When does Millie usually go to bed? B: She usually goes to bed at 9:30. 2. Ask students to talk about their activities in a day in groups of four, and fill in the form on P23. Step 6. Consolidation Ask students to give a talk about your activities in a day with the phrases they have learned in class. Step 7. Summary Useful expressions: l want to do sth. 想做某事 l get up 起床 l eat breakfast / lunch / supper 吃早饭/午饭/晚饭 l have lessons 上课 l go to bed 上床睡觉 l do after-school activities 做课外活动 l do morning exercises 做早操 l When does she usually get up? l She usually gets up at … l It’s time …该…… Step 8.Homework: 1.
